Description:
Dept of Social welfare Chandigarh organized a seminar in the school with the aim of sensitizing the students about Child Rights.
Juvenile Justice Act 2000 which ensures care and protection of children was prime focus of the seminar.
Through an interactive session, students were made aware of rights of children against exploitation, Protection of child from sex abuse POCSO 2012, right to education etc. This was followed by a discussion on the role of UTCPS (Union Territory Child Protection Society) in ensuring child rights. Such awareness campaigns are the need of the hour and must be undertaken by more schools all across the nation for a healthy and safe society.
