Description:

Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School celebrated the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the saint of peace, humility, and nature, with devotion and joy. The event began with a solemn prayer by the school choir, echoing the timeless words, “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.”

The celebration was graced by the presence of Rev. Sr Anupa, School Manager, Rev. Sr Venita Joseph, Principal, Rev. Sr Usha, Vice Principal, and Rev. Sr Alvina, Primary Wing Headmistress, along with the coordinators and staff. The dignitaries performed the traditional Lighting of the Lamp, symbolising the light of wisdom and divine presence.

The introduction highlighted the saint’s life of simplicity and service, his love for all of God’s creation, and his call to live in harmony with nature. A soulful recitation by Vridhi Kalra beautifully conveyed St. Francis’ message of peace and love. This was followed by a student enactment based on the life of St. Francis, which powerfully brought alive his journey from riches to renunciation and his deep devotion to God’s creation.

Students also shared inspirational quotes of the saint, reminding everyone of his enduring values of love, humility, and generosity. A lively rhythmic offering filled the atmosphere with joy, reflecting St. Francis’ love for music and creation. The programme included a moment of reflection, inviting the audience to embrace inner peace and carry forward the Franciscan spirit in their daily lives.

The celebration concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, leaving the gathering inspired by the saint’s words: “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.”
