The word “Manodarpan” means mirror
of the mind?. Just as a mirror reflects our face, this program helps us
reflect on our thoughts and emotions. It reminds us that caring for our mind is
as important as preparing for what lies ahead in life.
Launched by the Ministry of
Education (MoE), Government of India, Manodarpan provides psychological
support and counselling services to students, teachers, and families. It
was introduced during the COVID-19 outbreak and continues to support
well-being beyond the pandemic.
Key features of Manodarpan:
- Online counselling sessions and resources for students
and parents.
- A National Toll-Free Helpline (8448-390-602) for
psychological support.
- Expert tips on managing stress, anxiety, and emotional
challenges.
- Awareness materials such as posters, videos, and
guidelines.
Our school’s peer educators also
gave a speech on Manodarpan, sharing
how this program can help students manage stress, stay positive, and support
each other’s mental health. Their talk emphasized that mental well-being is
just as important as academic success.
