Description: 93 units of blood collected at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School Chandigarh. In a noble cause to promote the spirit of service and humanity, Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Vishwas Foundation, Indian Red Cross Society, Chandigarh and the Blood Transfusion Department of PGIMER, Chandigarh, organized a blood donation camp. The event received an overwhelming response, with 93 blood donors coming forward to save lives. ll the donors were honoured by Red Cross Society's nodal officer Poonam Malik by giving them certificates of appreciation. The program began with a solemn prayer by the school choir, which set a calm and compassionate atmosphere for the day. This was followed by the School Manager, Reverend Sister Anupa; Principal, Reverend Sister Venita; Vice Principal, Sister Usha; Dr. Sangeeta, Associate Professor, Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGI; Sadhvi Neelima Vishwas, President of Vishwas Foundation; and The ceremonial lamp was lit by parent representatives. In her welcome address, Rev. Sr. Venita expressed gratitude to all the partner organizations for their invaluable support in making the camp a success. She emphasized the importance of nurturing compassion and social responsibility in students and said that such initiatives help young minds understand the value of selfless service. The school choir gave a moving performance on the theme of humanity and solidarity, filling the atmosphere with emotion and positivity. A short motivational speech was delivered, encouraging voluntary blood donation as a civic duty that can save countless lives. The PGIMER medical team, in collaboration with volunteers from the Indian Red Cross Society and the Vishwas Foundation, ensured the smooth and safe collection of blood units. Strict medical standards were followed throughout the process, with doctors and trained nurses monitoring each step. Refreshments were provided to ensure the comfort and well-being of blood donors.And arrangements were made for rest.In gratitude, tokens of appreciation were presented to the Vishwas Foundation for their organizational support and to Dr. Sangeeta for her professional guidance and contributions. Both were commended for their continued efforts to promote voluntary blood donation campaigns throughout the region. Dr. Sangeeta appreciated the enthusiasm of the blood donors and praised the school for instilling social awareness among the students. Vishwas Foundation also commended the school management and volunteers for their dedication in effectively coordinating the event. The camp concluded with satisfaction and gratitude as teachers, parents, and alumni joined hands for humanity.
